The top men’s fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2021 (part 1)

The 2020 quiet year for the fashion world is coming to the end and the Spring/Summer 2021 Fashion Weeks has unveiled seriously bold and stylish designs. Here is a list of all the top men’s fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2021. This is how you should be wearing when the weather gets warmer again.

The return of the bomber jacket

Bomber jackets remain a big trend for Spring/Summer 2021. Although this may not sound like news to you, there were more takes on the classic bomber jacket at the SS21 shows than we could have thought. From the classic high-shine flight jackets at Philipp Plein to the cropped minimalist bombers at both Prada and Hermès, there was a neatness to the look that felt less maximalist than it has in the last seasons.

Nautical

Maybe more of a micro-trend but nautical notes appeared at several shows, including the exaggerated Breton-style tops at Dolce & Gabbana, anchor-covered intarsia-knit sweaters at Gucci, and sailor sweaters at the generally sun-soaked Casablanca show.

Go wide or go home

For Spring/Summer 2021, every menswear designer worth their thread sent out a variety of ultra-wide trousers. For example, those at Zegna and Casablanca were cut with a chic, latter-day YSL look in mind – pleated with a fluidity demonstrating the tailoring prowess of the aforementioned brands. Trousers were cut high At Gucci and Hermès. Meanwhile, Dolce & Gabbana and Rick Owens show off cargo and tracksuit-style trousers cut with room enough for two, which creates sportier look.

New utility

The utility trend has been doing the rounds for some seasons. Now, the look has been updated with more all-round “high-function” vibe for Spring/Summer 2021. From the insanely luxurious crocodile field jacket at Dior to the all-over safari looks at Balmain, next summer it’s all about looking like you are coming out of the apocalypse fighting.
